I am happy to offer proofreading and copy editing services through this website.
We all know that it helps to let someone else look over your work. I feel I can offer your publication, essay or manuscript an extra leg up over the others in the pile by ensuring that no typos, bad grammar or silly mistakes let it down.
My price is only £5 per 1000 words, or part thereof. (£7.50 per 1000 will be charged for more in-depth editing of manuscripts.)
Are you an Editor or a publisher looking for someone to join your team as a proofreader? In that case, l aim to give your writers a safety net by double checking their English. I will also, if desired, do my best to make sure that the articles all flow together, and that they suit the style and tone of your individual publication and its rules.
Want that essay or dissertation proofread before you hand it in? In the case of essays and academic work, I will ensure that all your spelling, punctuation and grammar are correct, and that there is uniformity across the piece.
Or perhaps you want a second opinion on that manuscript or article before you submit it to the harsh eyes of a commissioning editor? In the case of pieces of fiction, I am happy to offer either just the basic proofreading service, or, for a nominal extra cost, I am happy to give you my personal thoughts on your story – what’s good about it, as well as where it could be improved to better catch the eye of a publisher.
I have previous experience, both as an informal editor of three manuscripts by my tutor, Sam Hawksmoor, (to be published in 2011); and as Copy Editor for the past three years on my university newspaper, Pugwash News. I have also recently taken up a position as Proofreader at CityLife Magazine in Portsmouth.
